The Big Announcement

For some of you, the suspense has been killing you.  For others, you didn't even notice.  But for those who have been paying attention, there have been some BIG changes going on in the Williams household the last several months.  We have moved, we're expecting our first child, I resigned my position as student pastor, and also stated a different secular job on the side.  Needless to say, it's been a little crazy 'round here.  

Nothing has made it crazier than the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.  Nothing will ever change your life like telling God you are all HIS.  When you do that, just plan on nothing, cause every thing you plan will be shot an it ALL goes to HIM.  But Denira and I wouldn't have it any other way.  

So by giving ourselves truly to the will of God, He has spoken loudly into our lives.  Out of HIS plans and our acceptance to HIS will, comes The Ridge Community Church.  Yes, God has called us to plant a church!  That sounds crazy just saying that out loud.  The Ridge is coming to Oak Ridge Tennessee!  

Now to be honest, I struggled with this for a while, wrestling with God on how, why, when, with who, and even why me.  I didn't want to plant a new church.   I wanted to be a lifer in student ministry.  Most of us know how the story ends and God always wins.  For several months I struggled with God and when I finally gave in, He closed and opened a lot of doors I didn't even know existed!  God awakened my heart to reach people in Oak Ridge that are distant from God, to see them awakened to life in Christ!  That gets me juiced!  

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen.  We are planting a new, fresh, all about the BIG C Church, church, in Oak Ridge Tennessee called The Ridge Community Church along with a host of other families and individuals who share that same calling to reach people distant from God, seeing them awakened to life in Christ!

Will you pray with us?  Will you pray for the people of Oak Ridge that they will see the light of Christ, being awakened from the spiritual sleep?  (Eph. 5)  Will you pray for Denira and I that God will continue to speak loudly into our lives, giving me direction, clear vision, and wisdom to see it all come together?
